Live NHL Betting
While pre-game NHL markets are a staple fixture of the betting scene, live betting enables you to bet on game as the action plays out.
All pre-game markets, such as Player A To Score or Team B to win, are available as Live NHL Betting lines. Say Team A is an underdog but makes a surprisingly positive start, you can back them to win the game as they threaten the opposition goal.
Other Live NHL Betting markets include betting lines that are available exclusively in-play. For example, you can bet on a specific player to score the next goal, if you believe the play is opening up for them.
NHL Odds This Week
Every game of every NHL season, all the way up to and including the Stanley Cup final, is covered by our weekly NHL betting lines. Simply download the Betway app (or visit our website) and head to our NHL homepage. There, you’ll find all available NHL odds for the week, split across each game. We provide markets from pre-season lines all the way to Stanley Cup odds in each NHL campaign’s grand finale.
And, as well as the usual weekly NHL betting lines, we also offer NHL Daily Prop bets that focus on markets split across different games.
Not only will signing up to the Betway app mean you can access NHL odds for the week any time and any place, you’ll also receive automatic alerts and push notifications for all our NHL Super Boosts, where we increase the odds on selected NHL betting lines, giving you the chance to win bigger on chosen bets.
What is a Money Line Bet on NHL?
One of the most popular NHL betting lines, and perhaps the simplest, is an NHL Money Line bet.
A Money Line bet requires you to back either team to win. If they win, so does your bet.
Let’s take a hypothetical game of Dallas Stars versus Vegas Golden Knights as an example of one. In this instance, you’ve decided to bet $100. Say you bet on the Dallas Stars To Win with the odds priced at +125, you would win $125, plus your $100 stake back. Odds of -150 on the Golden Knights would mean you would need to bet $150 to win $100, plus your original stake back. A minus sign on a team’s odds indicate that they are the favourites To Win.
NHL Spreads, also known as NHL Spread bets or NHL Points Spread bets, require the bettor to bet on how many points an NHL team will win or lose by, indicated by a plus or minus sign. At Betway, NHL Spreads are referred to as NHL Puck Line betting. What is NHL Puck Line betting?
Let’s say Colorado Avalanche are playing New York Rangers. You could bet on a -1.5 Puck Line Spread for the Avalanche – betting on the Avalanche to win by at least two goals i.e. if 1.5 points were subtracted from the Avalanche’s final score, they would still win the game. Betting on the Avalanche on a Puck Line of +1.5 would mean you would the Avalanche to lose by no more than one point to win your bet.
NHL Draft SpecialsEvery summer, all 31 franchises enter the NHL draft lottery, to determine the order in which they will make draft picks for the upcoming season. There are seven rounds in the draft, which means each franchise has the opportunity to pick seven players. And you can make NHL draft bets not only on which players will be drafted by which teams, but also the order in which teams’ picks are allocated via the lottery.
NHL Parlays with Betway
What’s a parlay, we hear you ask? A parlay bet is a type of bet that combines two or more betting lines into one overall wager. By combining different lines, you increase the overall odds, thus awarding you with a greater potential payout.
You can make NHL parlays that combine individual player markets, NHL parlays that combine team markets, or combine individual player markets with team markets.
For example, say the Edmonton Oilers are playing the Boston Bruins. You could create an NHL parlay by combining the Brad Marchand To Score market with the Connor McDavid To Score market. This will provide greater odds and a subsequently greater potential payout than simply betting on these two markets separately.
In the same game, you could create a parlay from the Brad Marchand To Score market, and the Boston Bruins To Win market. You could even bet on Marchand to Score and Edmonton Oilers To Win. However you want to combine bets, the way you create a parlay is up to you.
You can even combine markets from different games to create an NHL parlay. Say on the same night the Oilers are playing the Bruins, the Flyers are also playing the Devils. You could create a parlay of the Bruins To Win and the Flyers To Win. There is no limit to how many lines you can include in a parlay. So the choice is yours.
Stanley Cup Betting
The Stanley Cup is the most prestigious prize in all of hockey, and at Betway, our constantly updated Stanley Cup betting odds mean you can bet on who you think will clinch the trophy in pre-season, during the regular season, during the play-offs, or even during the Stanley Cup Finals.
The Stanley Cup trophy was initially created to crown the best team in Canada, prior to the creation of the NHL. But since 1915, the Stanley Cup holders are synonymous with the NHL champions. The Montreal Canadians have won the most NHL Championships, with 24 victories in the Stanley Cup Finals, followed by Toronto Maple Leafs (13) and Detroit Red Wings (11). While many bettors like to bet on historic teams such as the Canadiens and Maple Leafs to win the Stanley Cup, it’s always a good idea to keep up with current NHL form and predictions with our expert analysts at the Betway Insider Blog.
